We are an online literary magazine which was established in the fall of 2019 in Pittsburg, Kansas. The magazine is run by members of the Creative Writing program at Pittsburg State University. We publish fiction and creative nonfiction by emerging and established writers. By focusing on these genres, we aim to provide our readers with stories that resonate.
We also sponsor a poetry chapbook contest, the Cow Creek Chapbook Prize, which you can learn more about here.
Emerald city provides a platform for emerging and established writers to foster a meaningful literary conversation among diverse readers and writers. We celebrate the power of human connection by offering a distinctive collection of narrative prose and artful storytelling.
